| Cheers to Cook County State's Attorney Richard Devine for creating a domestic violence unit. Pamela Paziotopoulos, an attorney and national expert on the prosecution of stalking and domestic violence, will oversee the initiative, which will be augmented by a $539,000 grant. She says a top priority is increasing victim cooperation through offering more specialized legal and counseling support. "We need to encourage them to hold offenders...accountable for their actions, not only for the victims, but for the children...and the preservation of the family. |
